The hope for the first aliens was great when the newspapers reported on a new study on planet K2-18B in spring. First author Nikku Madhusudhan from the University of Cambridge in Great Britain and his team stated that the strongest indications for rough quantities of a promising molecule on the exoplanet had been found so far. The presumably water -rich heavenly body is 124 light years away, has about ten times the earth mass and circles a rather small star. Will K2-18B be recognized the first planet in life far from the earth?
