Catania airport closed due to fire

Rome/Catania – Due to a fire in the immediate vicinity of the Airport of the Sicilian city of Catania, air traffic was temporarily suspended on Tuesday afternoon. As a result, the airspace was also blocked to enable the use of extinguishing aircraft, said the airport’s operating company. The fire brigade is currently in use to control and extinguish the flames.
