Three militants responsible for a deadly attack on tourists at Caxemira administered by India earlier this year were killed, a high Indian authority told parliamentarians on Tuesday (29).
During the April attacks, gunmen broke into a historic place in the mountains of Caxemira managed by India, killing 26 people, mostly Indian tourists.

The militants were killed in a joint action called Operation Mahadev, conducted by the Indian Army, by the Central Reserve’s police force and Jammu and Caxemira police on Monday (28), the India Interior Minister, Amit Shah, told the Indian Parliament.
“Those responsible for the death of our citizens in the Baisaran Valley were these three terrorists, and all three were killed,” said Shah.
He told parliamentarians that the three dead were Pakistani citizens.

India blamed Pakistan by the attack, which Islamabad denied. New Delhi, triggering a retaliatory military response that reaped lives on both sides of the border.

The minister reported that the Indian intelligence service received information about the trio’s alleged location in Dachigam National Park, outside the city of Srinagar, in May, and spent months confirming the truth before acting.

The trio was killed on the same day the Indian Parliament called a special discussion about Operation Sindoor, the formal name given to India’s retaliatory action against Islamabad after the attack.
The disputed region of CAXEMIRA since both countries gained the independence of Britain in 1947.
The two nations that emerged from the bloody division of British India – Hindu majority, and Pakistan, mostly Muslim – claim cashmira fully, although they control only parts of it.
Months after independence, they waged the first of their three wars through the territory.
The conflict following the April massacre was the worst in India and Pakistan in decades, with both sides advanced deeply in each other’s territory.
After four days of fighting, a ceasefire between the countries was first announced by US President Donald Trump, who claimed that Washington helped secure the deal. India denied American involvement in negotiations.
