Awdah Muhammad Hathhaleen harvest 31 years old.
“He fired like a madman,” he denounced, supported by a video of the tragic moment, one of the codirers of Oscar’s winning documentary.
An Israeli settler murdered the Palestinian activist on Monday Muhammad HathaleenEnglish teacher, contributing to Israelo-Palestinian magazine +972 and participant in the documentary “No other Land”, which was distinguished with an Oscar this year.
The news was advanced by the magazine and one of the documentary’s codirers, Yuval Abraham, on social network X, who identified the killer as Yinon Leviunder US and EU sanctions, and added a video in which he appears “firing like a madman.”
We warned that the video we then shared, which was shared by Abraham, can hurt susceptibilities for its violence.

For its part, the Palestinian authority, via the Ministry of Education, said on social networks that “the teacher (…) was shot down by the settlers on July 28, 2025, during an attack on the town of Umm Al-Khair” near Hebron, southern West Bank.
Israeli police reported on opening an inquiry into an “incident that occurred near Carmel,” a colonist near Umm Al-Khair.
No other Land: Hathaleen was not the first to suffer in the hands of the settlers
Awdah Hathaleen was a inhabitant of the Massafer Yatta region in southern Hebron. With neighbors, he had participated in the call of attention to this declared Military Zone by Israel.
After a long judicial process the Israeli Supreme Court gave reason to the military, which opened the door to the expulsion of the inhabitants of the eight locations in the region.
Awdah Hathaleen, who taught English classes, had participated in the documentary “No other Land”, consecrated to the fight of the Palestinians in this region, commented the corrector, Yuval Abraham.
Already in March, Zap reported that the documentary director was by Israelite settlers and soldiers. Hamdan Bellalwho won the Oscar for best documentary, “was handcuffed and blindfolded all night, at a base of the army while two soldiers beaten him on the floor, his lawyer Leah Tsemel said after talking to him” also denounced Yuval Abraham at the time.
About three million Palestinians live in the Westoccupied by Israel since 1967, along with half a million Israelites settlers, in colonies considered illegal by public international law.
The documentary is the work of four directors – Hamdan Ballal, Basel Adra, Abraham and Rachel Szor and reflects the situation in Adra, a Palestinian village in the southern end of the West Bank. The documentary reflects the destruction of the locality by Israelites, the lack of opportunities for Palestinians and the risk of expulsion of their lands.
Israeli police admitted to opening an investigation, but did not confirm the death of Awdah Muhammad Hathaleen, who collaborated in the documentary

“This violence is an act of terrorism”he declared.
This is the first time French diplomacy has described the actions of Jewish settlers in this way.
