Brazilian Maria Fernanda Costa and Stephanie Balduccini qualified the semifinal of the World Water Sports, in Singapore, on Monday (28). Both advanced in the 200m free swimming dispute.
Mafê ended with the 14th best general brand, reaching the time of 1min57s94. Already Stephanie, spent in 16th, the last vacancy for the semifinal, with 1min58s28. Leadership in the qualifying for New Zealand Erika Fairweather, who reached 1min56s54.
This is the first time in history that Brazil puts two athletes in the semis of the 200m free women in a world championship. The best result in the country is a fifth place, won by Mafê Costa last year.
