Spread yogurt in the house window? Yes, and the results are surprising

With temperatures to get close to 40 degrees in various areas of the country, the makeshift solutions are multiplied to try to keep the home cooler. Between running blinds, ice fan and aluminum foil glued to the windows, an unusual proposal that is generating curiosity: applying natural yogurt to the glass to reduce heat is now emerging.

The idea, as strange as it seems, is being taken seriously by those who tested it. According to the Leak website, the yogurt, when dry on the glass, creates a white film that reflects part of sunlight and helps to lock the interiors. The technique was explained by Ben Roberts, a researcher at Loughborough University, who said that this layer can reduce up to 3.5 ° C in a direct sun division.

Yogurt in the windows: dries quickly, does not smell and result

The method is simple: just apply a thin layer of natural yogurt (without sugar or fruit) to the glass and let it dry in the sun. The look may not be the most pleasant, but those who have already experienced it states that the effect is visible. The yogurt dries rapidly, leaves no smell and the inner environment is more bearable.

However, it is not a risk -free solution. Some experts in two -source frames warn that yogurt contains compounds that can affect seals, leave residues difficult to clean or even attract insects, especially if not removed on the day. In windows with thermal protective films, the risk of permanent damage is higher.

Use with caution and only in punctual cases

The trick can be useful as a last resort measure, especially in situations where there is no air conditioning and heat is intense. To avoid problems, you should first test yourself in a small area of the glass and ensure that it is clean at the end of the day before drying out completely.

Although it seems like an output solution from an internet game, the physical principle behind the technique is legitimate: the reflection of sunlight through light surfaces can significantly reduce heat transfer.

It will not be the future of domestic climate control, nor replaces more effective and lasting methods, but, as concluded, it can be an unexpected help for those who have already sold out all other options.
