The governments of Thailand and Cambodia presented conflicting versions on the morning of Tuesday, 29, on the fulfillment of the ceasefire right the day before leaders of both countries, under pressure from the United States.
The Thai army stated that Cambodia launched attacks after midnight when the truce came into force. The Cambodian forces, however, denied having made any shots.
“Such actions represent a deliberate violation of ceasefire and a serious breach of confidence,” said Thai general Vithai Laithomya.

“After the ceasefire came into force, there was no armed conflict on the front lines,” said Cambodian Ministry of Defense spokesman Mlay Socheata.
