According to him, any attempt to intimidate the Brazilian judiciary deserves strong repudiation. Messiah also expressed solidarity with Moraes, a priority target of the US government.
“I manifest my integral solidarity with Minister Alexandre de Moraes in the face of measures that undermine the authority and independence of our institutions,” he said.
Trump’s secretary of state, Marco Rubio, said there were “serious human rights abuses” by the STF minister.
With this decision, the Trump administration determines the freezing of any good or Moraes assets and can also ban US financial entities from doing dollar operations with a sanctioned person.
