Arrested in Italy, with final conviction in Brazil, Deputy Carla Zambelli (PL) has another lawsuit ahead: which can lead to her mandate by the House of Representatives.
The theme is under discussion at the Chamber Constitution and Justice Commission (CCJ) and should enter the board’s agenda shortly after the return of the parliamentary recess, on August 5.
The process is expected to be dependent on the conduction of the rapporteur of the process, Federal Deputy Diego Garcia (Republicans-PR)

Mandate
According to the president of the CCJ, Paulo Azi (União-BA), a representation in the collegiate is under consideration for the loss of Zambelli’s mandate because it was convicted by the STF.
“If she had been arrested in a decision, for example, of pre -trial detention, there would still be an assessment of the House and the CCJ would have to comment on this. But in this case, the arrest is due to a final decision. So, it is no longer up to her arrest,” he explains.

Prior to the parliamentary recess, the CCJ designated a rapporteur for the case and opened the deadline for defense, which has already been made. The process is now in the instructional phase and it is up to the rapporteur to decide whether to take steps and accept the defense of the defense of listening to witnesses.
Upon completion of the opinion, the CCJ has five sessions to vote for the revocation or not of the mandate. The final decision is up to the House Plenary.
Yesterday, the mayor, Hugo Motta (Republican-PB) reinforced, on a social network, that it is not for the house to deliberate on the arrest, only about the loss of mandate.
