Plenary session of the caption that commands the country will discuss the proposals of the next national five-year plan 2026-2030
The Chinese government reported on Wednesday (30.Jul.2025) that will hold the 4th Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of in October. The general of the acronym will be in Beijing and will have as its main objective to discuss the proposals for formulation of the PQN (National Fivenote Plan) 2026-2030.
PQN is the main instrument of economic and social organization of China and aims to achieve objectives established by the CCP for the next 5 years. The decision to mark the session for October came after the meeting of the PCP Political Birô – party leaders’ group – which ended this 4th (30.Jul).
The meeting was led by China President Xi Jinping (PCCH). According to the state news agency Xinhuathe Chinese leader said the new PQN will be “A crucial phase to consolidate the foundation to perform socialist modernization”.
The conjuncture around PQN formulation has been more challenging with the tensions with the US since the beginning of the year. The trade war and the American strategy of applying barriers to other countries has created a scenario of uncertainty in global production chains.
With this, the Chinese government had less than 1 year to put these weights on the scale during the final sewing of the PQN.
The meeting of the PCP’s political birô also focused on the current economic situation of the country. The Board of Leaders has decided to maintain more cautious attitude in the 2nd semester and will not implement drastic measures to boost China’s economy.
The focus will be on the improvement of measures already adopted to mitigate the effects of trade war, such as:
- heating of domestic consumption;
- Containment about the ability of some sectors; and
- Financial support to exporters.
