The chairman of the Constitution and Justice Commission of the House of Representatives, Paulo Azi (Union-BA), says he does not change his schedule to vote her cancellation until September.
“My desire is to vote as soon as possible, regardless of this arrest issue, not to be pending. And being careful not to be much and be questioned for not having given a broad right of defense to the deputy.”
The cassation process is due to the conviction that Zambelli suffered at the Supreme Court for helping Hacker Walter Delgatti to invade the National Justice Council systems.
The loss of mandate must be endorsed by the House Plenary, passing by the CCJ. Last month, Azi designated Deputy Diego Garcia (Republicans-PR) as rapporteur.
Zambeli presented a list of witnesses, including Delgatti himself. On the return of parliamentary recess, next week, Garcia should introduce Azi a work plan.
If the witnesses are rejected, it is possible to complete the process as early as August, says the chairman of the commission. Otherwise, the schedule may delay another month.
A current assessment of the CCJ is that, before prison, there was a majority to approve its cancellation. This may change, however, if the Italian court denies the extradition pointing out that it has suffered political persecution in Brazil.
