Domestic economy weakens: GDP rose by 0.1 percent in the second quarter of the second quarter

Vienna – the domestic economy continues to weaken. In the second quarter of 2025 compared to the previous year and the previous quarter, GDP only increased by 0.1 percent, the quick estimate of the Economic Research Institute (WIFO). “While some service areas were expanding compared to the previous quarter, the dynamics were behavioral in industry,” said the economic researchers. On the demand side, a positive development in private consumption supported the overall economy.
