Google, despite the promised signature, draws attention to the risks for the rapidly developing AI sector. The meta rejects the recommendations and claims that legal uncertainties can endanger developers.

Google’s technology company said on Wednesday that it will sign a set of recommendations of the European Union (EU) issued for the most powerful models of artificial intelligence (AI). The signature was also announced by Openai, behind the Chatgpt model, the recommendations are rejected by Meta. This is reported by TASR based on AFP reports.

Both developers and US claim that extensive rules can damage a fast -growing artificial intelligence sector

This month, the EU has published recommendations for the Code of Procedures for the most advanced AI models to ensure its safe and transparent use in accordance with the European Artificial Intelligence Regulation.

AFP states that the announcement of the publication of the recommendations came at a time when Brussels faces strong pressure from developers and the United States to postpone the enforcement of extensive rules. According to them, they could damage a rapidly growing sector with artificial intelligence in Europe.

“We will join several other companies, including US model providers and sign this code,” Kent Walker, President of Google, said.

The Meta Code does not sign for a number of legal uncertainty for developers

Walker said Google would provide the EU feedback, but warned that the rules could slow the development and introduction of artificial intelligence in Europe. “Deviations from the EU copyright, slowing approval steps or requirements revealing business secrets could hinder the development and introduction of European models and damage Europe’s competitiveness,” he added.

The American company Openai and the French startup Mistral said they are planning to sign the code. However, a loud critic of European Digital Meta rules claims that their example for “many legal uncertainties for developers” will not follow.

Dozens of European companies, including the French Airbus and the German Lufthansa, called on the EU this month to suspend promoting the rules for artificial intelligence for the same reasons as the meta, as they are worried about loss of competitiveness in this sphere.
