Meeting with Big Techs had a US commerce representative

Vice President and Minister of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services, Geraldo Alckmin (PSB), said US Secretary of Commerce, Howard Lutnick, asked a representative of his folder to be part of a meeting with representatives of large technology companies operating in Brazil.

The meeting took place on the afternoon of Tuesday (29), in Brasilia.

“Yesterday, in the conversation with Secretary Lutnick, I told him that he would have a second meeting with American technology companies. And he asked if he could have a representative of him participating. So, a representative of the Secretariat of State Secretariat – also participated in the meeting for video conferencing,” he told the press. However, the name of the representative was not disclosed.

According to the deputy, representatives of some of the largest big techs US – Goal, Google, Amazon, Apple, Visa and Expedia – to deal with legal certainty, technological innovation and regulatory environment.

“I told the Secretary of Commerce, Howard Lutnick, that we would be available to talk. So I marked the meeting, came the companies here, and today we met for the second time. […] Anyway, it was a good meeting, ”he said.

Alckmin further pointed out that the meeting also addressed a desk to discuss a series of issues aimed at the issue of big techs.
