The Spanish National Police seized 3,500 pounds of hashish in a operation in Vejer, in the province of Cadis, as part of the Special Southern Security Plan. A significant part of the drug-1,800 pounds-was concealed in packaging that mimicked oranges in an ingenious attempt to deceive the authorities.
During the action, the agents intercepted a loading that would have been landed on El Palmar beach, finding the drug distributed by serapilla bales, work bags, cocoa packages and fruit -looking enclosures.
In total, 30 bars, 24 work bags with hashish balls wrapped in orange latex and various pills and individual packages were found. In home searches, 1,400 liters of fuel distributed by 69 bids were seized, which are believed to be destined to refuel quick speedboats used in drug trafficking.
Two people were arrested for drug trafficking and criminal association, now in pre-trial detention after court decision.
