STF minister was included in the magnitsky law; Decision divided opinions and boosted ironic publications in the X
The US government on Wednesday (30.Jul.2025) include Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Supreme Court (Supreme Court), in Magnitsky Law, which allows the blockade of assets and the restriction of entry into the country to foreigners accused of violating human rights.
The announcement resulted in a series of memes in the X, which are divided between support and criticism of the magistrate. There were also those who tried to make a “vasta” in the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio about the sanction.
Another meme shows a fictitious credit card from Caixa Econômica Federal that allegedly belonging to the minister. The card uses the NATIONAL ELO flag, indicating that this would be the only one the minister could use after the sanction, as Visa and Mastercard are from the US.
