Brazil 70 Synopsis – The Tri Saga

The Brazil 70 Series – TRI saga has been following from the Brazilian team’s preparation phase to the consecration in the tournament, portraying the challenges faced by Pelé, Tostão, Carlos Alberto, Jairzinho, Gérson, Rivellino and coach Mário Zagallo.

In 1970, Brazil reached its last great achievement in the Pelé era by defeating Italy in a historic final, with a 4-1 score. The Brazilian goals were scored by Pelé, Gérson, Jairzinho and Carlos Alberto, author of one of the most emblematic and celebrated bids in the history of the World Cups.

In addition to sports performance, the series also dives behind the scenes of the team and in the historical context of the period, marked by the repression of the military dictatorship.

Combining drama and soccer, production explores not only the genius of the team on the field, but also the symbolic impact of the Brazilian team in a moment of political tension, when football became an instrument of hope and national unity.

Director and Screenplay of Brazil 70 – The Saga do Tri

The general direction of the series will be divided between Paulo Morelli and Pedro Morelli, with Quico Meirellles also signing episodes.

The creation is up to Naná Xavier and Rafael Dornellas, and the final script will be prepared by Naná Xavier in partnership with Felipe Sant’Angelo.

The construction of the plot has the potential to balance historical elements and creative interpretations, which is common in fiction series based on real stories.

The portrayed period offers numerous dramatic possibilities, not only within the four lines, but also behind the scenes and in the social and political context of the time.

Humor as a resource for the series

Marcelo Adnet’s choice to live a character still little known to the audience, named Eusébio Teixeira, raises speculation about how humor will be used within the series. Adnet is a consolidated figure in Brazilian comedy, and his participation may indicate that production is open to exploiting lighter aspects, without compromising the dramatic content of the narrative.

The combination of comedy names and more dramatic actors suggests an attempt to create a narrative balance. If well conducted, this format can offer the viewer a more dynamic experience.

Although football is the central focus, the scenes of the selection, and the behavior of the characters make room for humanized and sometimes humorous situations.
