Carolina Afonso, born in Fuzeta, in the municipality of Olhão, was appointed Global Director of Innovation and Transformation (Innovation and Transformation Global Director) of the Jerónimo Martins group, one of the largest Portuguese companies in the food distribution sector.
With a professional path consolidated from over two decades, Carolina Afonso held relief positions in various organizations. He was CEO of Gato Preto in Portugal and Spain, Chief Digital & Marketing Office from Estoril 8023 and performed marketing direction at Toshiba Printing Solutions, Asus and Konica Minolta.
In addition to his career in the business sector, Carolina Afonso maintains a strong connection to the academic environment. He is a teacher at ISEG – University of Lisbon, where he coordinates several executive training courses at ISEG Executive Education. He has a PhD from the Complutense University of Madrid, a master’s degree in Marketing from ISEG and has a degree in International Relations from the New University of Lisbon.
Recognition of your work has been marked by several entities. Forbes included it among the most influential women in business in Portugal, standing out in the top 5 of the retail category. She is also the author of various works and publications in the area of marketing and leadership.
Carolina Afonso is also director of APPM – Portuguese Association of Marketing Professionals – and was recently elected president of the Alumni Strategic Board of Alumni.
