The Rio Branco Zoonoses Center conducts a dog and cat adoption campaign during Expoacre 2025, with a booth installed near the entrance to the Arena de Show.
The action seeks to encourage responsible adoption and ensure a new home to rescued and available animals for reception.
On site, adult animals and puppies are available for adoption, all vaccinated and healthy. To adopt, the interested party must present identity document and undergo a quick screening with the technical team, which assesses whether the person’s profile and available space are suitable to receive the new pet.

“We have the responsible adoption circuit. The person chooses the animal with which he identifies, fills his data and receives detailed guidance with our team and the support of the center veterinarian,” explained agent Adélia, a member of the Zoonosis Center team.
In addition to follow -up, the adopter receives a certificate of adoption and a basic kit with feed and water containers, as an initial incentive for the care of the new companion.
The team also delivers the vaccination calendar and guidance on special care, including public immunization campaigns at strategic points, such as the one in Araújo of the Tangará neighborhood.
About castration, the team reported that, at the moment, the procedure is not being performed by the Center because it is surgery that requires specialized structure and qualified professionals.
The action reinforces the importance of animal care and promotes welfare not only of animals, but also of families that welcome them.
“An adopted animal becomes part of the house, a true friend, and research shows that they contribute to the mental and emotional health of people,” said Agent Bianca, who also participates in the initiative.
