Many people wonder how to save the withered boxwood and whether it is possible at all. Of course, in this situation, it is crucial to determine the cause of the poor condition of our plant, which instead of enjoying the eye with juicy greenery, threatens with brown, withered branches. And although there are many reasons for the miserable boxwood, the most common of them is boxwood moth. This small, but extremely voracious pest can in a short time completely strip the bush off the leaves, turning it into a sad, brown skeleton. However, as for most pests in our garden, there are ways to the boxwood moth. One of them is homemade spraying for boxwood, which will eliminate pests and our plant will revive. Dilute these two ingredients with vascular fluid and spray the withered boxwood.

Spraying for the boxwood moth, or how to fight it at home

You can confidently prepare in the home. You need:

  • 1 cup of vinegar (preferably apple),
  • 1 liter of water,
  • A few drops of vascular fluid (optional, as an emulsifier).

Mix the vinegar with water thoroughly and add a few drops of dish liquid, thanks to which the spraying will stick harder to the sprayed surface of the plant. Vinegar works and hinders the feeding of larvae. Pour the prepared solution into a bottle with an atomizer and it’s ready. Spray the entire boxwood thoroughly, especially the lower side of the leaves. Remember to perform the treatment on a cloudy day or evening. Repeat spraying every 7-10 days.

  • Frying: frosty winds and sun in winter – drying leaves.
  • Incorrect pH of the soil: too alkaline soil = problems with consuming ingredients.
  • Excess moisture: root rot.
  • Incorrect fertilization: deficiency or excess ingredients.
  • Mechanical damage: plant weakness.
