In recent years, the governor has defended President Lula mainly because of the investments passed on by the federal government to Acre. Nevertheless, Gladson said for the first time publicly that the governor of Sao Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas, from Republicans, is his presidential candidate in the 2026 elections.
“I have my candidate preferably. I will speak for the first time: Tarcisio, governor of Sao Paulo. And I will say here: let here in Acre we will take care. But mount the horse that is sealed. He respects the opinions and is not extremist.
Among the points defended by Gladson to support Tarcisio, is the construction of the bridge that connects Acre to Rondônia by BR-364. The work was inaugurated by Tarcisio while he was Bolsonaro government minister of infrastructure. “I wanted to see the situation of this BR if he were president,” he added.
