The expectation around the possible premieres grows among the fans, as the club enters the field against Atletico-MG on Thursday (31), in the first leg of Copa do Brasil.
Among the new names, Lino would be the most close to the debut. The striker participated in the pre-season with Atletico Madrid and already trains normally with the other players. Nevertheless, it is likely that he does not act immediately.
Emerson Royal opts for a more cautious approach. During the official presentation, the defender pointed out that he is still in the process of adapting to the new club and needs more time to physically prepare. “I don’t want to rush and get in soon. I have to think about this topic, but it’s a very short time I need. Anxiety is a thousand,” he said.
Already Saul, although not acting for more than two months, showed willingness to accelerate the rehearsal in the lawns. The player was even related to this Thursday’s match.
In an interview with Spanish radio Cope, the player said he does not rule out acting, even without 100% physically. “I’ve been without play for three months, but I’ve been training for five days and tomorrow I’m summoned. It’s crazy, but if Philip needs and the club needs, I’m willing to take any risk,” said the Spaniard.

Carrascal arrives and can be an option
Another name that can reinforce the cast soon is Colombian midfielder Jorge Carrascal, who landed in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday (30). The athlete will undergo medical examinations and must sign a contract with the club in the coming days. The expectation is that it can also be related soon.
Like Samuel Lino, Carrascal participated in part of the pre-season with the Dynamo of Moscow, which facilitates physical adaptation and reduces the necessary preparation time. This increases the chances of being used in the short term, depending on the evaluation of the coaching staff in the next training.
In addition to this decisive duel for the Brazilian Cup, Flamengo will have more appointments in the coming days, such as the confrontation against Ceará for the Brazilian Championship, which expands the opportunities for testing and premiere within the cast.
