Government evaluates to trigger US justice against sanction to Moraes, says Jornal

The government of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) studies appealing to the American court to try to reverse the Supreme Court (STF). The information is from S.Paulo Folha.

According to the newspaper, one of the alternatives under discussion is to hire a law firm in the US to represent Moraes directly. Another evaluated proposal involves bringing to the American courts a thesis based on the defense of the sovereignty of Brazilian institutions, including the judiciary.

Also according to the newspaper, members of the STF and the government discussed the matter throughout this Wednesday (30), one day after the White House announced the application of the magnitsky law against Moraes, accusing him of serious violations of human rights and censorship to US companies and citizens.

Three court members heard by the newspaper said they do not see signs of retreat from the US government.
