In a telephone conversation that Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni had tonight with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, he asked him to end the hostilities immediately because “the situation in Gaza is unjustified and unbearable”.
As stated in a statement from the Italian government, “the conversation was an opportunity to emphasize again how urgent it is to provide guarantees for full and unhindered access to humanitarian aid, while Rome guaranteed its continued offer through the Food for Gaza initiative.”
Italy also announced that it would welcome another 50 Palestinians and help send a new humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
