Finance Minister Fernando Haddad declared on the morning of Thursday, 31, that the sanction against Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Supreme Court (STF) is the result of “bad information” about Brazilian democracy. He again criticized the effort of former President Jair Bolsonaro’s allies against Brazil in the US.
The Brazilian government has been complaining about political contamination at the US to the US to reverse the tariff. As reported to Political Broadcastthe entourage of Brazilian senators in the USA even avoided the disclosure of their agendas with fear of embargo of federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP).
The United States government sanctioned on Wednesday, 30, Minister Moraes based on magnitsky law, which allows punishments to foreigners accused of serious human rights violations. The action has as one of the main justifications the indictment of Jair Bolsonaro.

On the morning of Thursday, 31, when asked about the sanction, Haddad commented that Brazil is a signatory to “all” international agreements and conventions that protect human rights in the world, as well as having the independent judiciary.
About the 50%tariff, made official last Wednesday about part of Brazil’s exporting agenda, Haddad “said nothing that was decided yesterday cannot be reviewed” and stressed that the government will follow the dialogue, bringing technical arguments to the US government.
“We have to look for a much better result. We want to sit even to discuss everything,” he said, noting that there is “a lot of work ahead”, despite the relief to some sectors that were left out of the tariff. A new Haddad meeting with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is due to take place soon.
