In recent years, the Polish labor market has been changing from the assembly base to the sophisticated center of decision -making processes and digital economy. The country has been systematically created to create conditions for maintaining highly qualified jobs and attract capital in sectors with higher added value. In an interview with the Warsaw newsletter TASR, Zdeno Fedeš, the founder of Ahoy Career, who employs talents from Slovakia and the Czech Republic in Poland, said it.

“The simpler processes go to Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary or Greece. They remain in Poland with greater responsibility and decision -making process,” explains the entrepreneur. The fundamental difference between Slovakia and Poland perceives how countries are approaching the development of their business environment and supporting innovation.

According to him, the state strategy of supporting economic zones played an important role. “Poles have 15 or 16 economic zones, each with their own specialization, university background and support from the state,” approached. Their financing is provided by the Central State Agency Paih, which allocates funds to local governments for business development and attracting investors. According to Fedeša, this model enables targeted development of regions and efficient use of public resources.

At the same time, Poland has targeted invested in the return of its own experts from abroad. “When you come back from abroad, you don’t pay your income tax for the first two years. The salary is higher, so you go home,” He said Fedeš. He added that this policy had a significant impact on maintaining specialized jobs in the country.

According to Polish Statistical Office data, Almost 160,000 emigrants returned to Poland between 2017 and 2022, most of them from the United Kingdom. The data from the latest ClickTrans platform report shows that in 2024 more people decided to return to Poland than emigrate.

According to Fedeš, the ability to integrate the workforce from third countries, including Ukraine, is an important phenomenon. “They were able to put themselves in the skin of the Ukrainians, they opened up and have gone huge benefits,” he said. According to him, the Polish business quickly adopted migration reality and created new models of employment instead of attenuation of production. At the same time, companies began to promote Poland abroad to address a skilled workforce.

Unlike Slovakia, where, according to Fedeš, business is associated with caution and stability, In Poland, a business spirit prevails. According to him, this mentality can also be seen in how quickly Polish companies adapt to global trends.
