And it will be a powerful episode, since the air masses that will fly over Spain “will be”, according to the agency, which has advanced that throughout the day it will issue a special notice with more details.

Temperatures began to rise on Wednesday, but the thermal ascent ”will be more notable on Sunday and Monday, days in which heat will be very intense in most of Spain,” explains Rubén del Campo, spokesman for the AEMET. Thus, the 35 ° will be exceeded in the Ebro Valley, North and South Plateau of Galicia, with 38 ° or more in large areas of southern Galicia, central and southern peninsular area already on Monday. In the valleys of Guadalquivir and the Guadiana they could even exceed 42 °. These high temperatures will be higher in about 5 to 10 ° to the normal ones, especially in the western half of the Peninsula, and are expected to continue until mid -week.
It is being a hard summer, although with some fresh periods, the meteorologist is taking stock. “To begin with, June was extraordinarily warm, in fact it was of the entire historical series because until now no month had been 3.6 degrees warmer than normal,” he says.
Julio has had, on the other hand, two different parts: a first fortnight with temperatures clearly above normal and a second with soft, even cold temperatures, due to the arrival of vaguadas, cold air masses, which have refreshed the environment.
