US President Donald Trump expressed optimism on Wednesday in connection with commercial negotiations with China and said he expected to reach a fair agreement between the two parties. I think we will reach a very fair agreement with China,” Trump told journalists in the White House.
American and Chinese officials met this week in Stockholm, Sweden, where they discussed resolution of persistent economic disputes. According to AP, however, the talks ended without a specific result. Both countries in May in Geneva agreed to reduce duties by 115 % to 90 days. Cutures on Chinese goods imported to the US thus dropped to 30 % and US imports to China to 10 %. The validity of this agreement is to expire on 12 August.
Donald Trump’s administration has already reached business agreements with the European Union, the United Kingdom and Japan and negotiates with several other countries in order to conclude new agreements.
