Author of the request for the abuse of authority in the House, aimed at investigating the behavior of the judiciary especially against right-wing politicians, Federal Deputy Marcel Van Hattem (Novo-RS) expects sanctions applied against Minister Alexandre de Moraes () by the US to give new impulse to the investigation.
“There are reasons to finally create the CPI. The first thing I did when the news came out was to mark presidents Hugo Motta (House) and David Alcolumbre (Senate) on social networks to charge them a decision,” says the parliamentarian.
He gathered the signatures and filed CPI’s request in November 2023, but so far it has not really been created. “They said there was no regimental space, but it is now the fourth in line, and can work up to five at the same time,” he says.
The committee would have as its main target the STF ministers, who would be mostly adopted authoritarian behaviors under the pretext of investigating undemocratic acts.
“Alexandre, with sanctions, is proving the poison he has always used, isolating people, blocking accounts and not allowing locomotion freely,” he says.
