Brazil’s oil production reached a record of 3.757 million barrels per day (BBL/D) in June, an increase of 2.1% compared to the previous month, said on Friday (1st) the regulator of the ANP (National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels).
According to the report, oil production increased by 10.1% over the same month of 2024, with an extraction growth from new Petrobras platforms and their partners.
This week, the state-owned company reported that its production in the second quarter benefited from the entry into operation of Alexandre de Gusmão FPSO, in Mero 4, in addition to the continuation of the “Ramp-Up” of the FPSO Almirante Tamandaré, in the Mega Campo de Buzios.
According to ANP, Petrobras’ total production as a consortium, including gas, added about 3 million barrels of oil equivalent to the day in June, versus approximately 2.78 million barrels in the same month last year.
The ANP also reported that Brazil’s natural gas production also reached a record in June, totaling 181.636 million cubic meters per day (m³/d), a growth of 5.4% compared to May and 20.9% compared to June 2024.
However, the total volume of gas produced, only 61.7 million m³/d were made available to the market, while 96.3 million m³/d were injected back into the wells. Of the total, 17.6 million m³/d were consumed on the platform itself and about 6 million m³/d were burned in the unit.
