The suspect of beheading a man in Lisbon will be heard this Saturday in court. The man was arrested after handing over the victim’s head to the hospital of São José. There are suspicions of a passion crime.
The Judicial Police (PJ) removes suspicions of drug trafficking or consumption, and believes that in the origin of the crime are personal reasons, although the victim and the suspect became known shortly before the crime was committed.
“Underlying the practice of the facts, there will be reasons of personal character, despite the knowledge between both being temporally very close to the occurrence. No indication was collected that relate the crime with trafficking or consumption of narcotics,” reads.
Everything indicates that a victim, a 34 -year -old foreign national citizen, in a “regular” situation in Portugal, was killed and beheaded near a work in the Rossio area, in the rear of the Lisbon Colosseum.
O: “6:10 AM Panic, (…), found a body, a beheaded, headless body. He was panicked and didn’t know what he would do, I said ‘he has calm and calls the police.”
The man was beheaded on Tuesday night to Wednesday and, just over a day later, the 29-year-old suspect was handing over the victim’s head to the staff of the São José Hospital.
The PSP reported to the PJ that after having collected evidence, such as “the knife” that was used in the crime, detained the man.
