Program of the Ministry of Education (MEC) grants tuition funding to students of undergraduate courses in private higher education institutions in the country
The deadline for the pre-selected in the regular call of the second half of 2025 of the Complementing the registration ends at 23 hours and 59 minutes of this Friday (1st) (Brasília time). According to the notice the procedure should be done directly at the Single Portal of Higher Education Access, with login through the Gov.br Portal. The program of Grants tuition financing to students of undergraduate courses in Private Higher Education Institutions participating in FIES and with positive evaluation in the National Higher Education Assessment System (SINAES).
Complementation
The candidate who has enrolled for vacancies for persons with disabilities (PCD) must prove his situation with medical report attesting the species and the degree of disability, with express reference to the corresponding code of the International Classification of Disease – ICD. If the private college commission identifies errors or inconsistencies regarding the information provided, the higher education institution may require the presentation of complementary documentation. Half of the vacancies are reserved for social fies, occupied by candidates with per capita family income of up to half a minimum wage (R $ 759.00 in 2025), registered in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico). This candidate pre-selected to the vacancy of the Social FIES is dispensed with proof of family income. However, he must attend the private college commission to validate the other information. During the completion of the registration, until Friday (1st), this candidate may still request the contracting of financing of up to 100% of the educational charges charged by the Higher Education Institution.
Next Steps
After the stage of complementation of registration information, students must prove the information declared at the time of registration, by physical or digital delivery, within five business days, with the Permanent Commission for Supervision and Monitoring (CSPSA) of the Higher Education Institution in which it was pre-selected. If the documentation is approved, the next step is the validation of information in a financial agent within ten days from the third day after the registration of the Faculty Commission is validated. Only after the approval of the bank can the contracting of the financing formalize.
Vacancies
In all, the program received 276,140 registrations, with a total of 111,402 enrolled – each candidate could apply for up to three higher education course options. This year, MEC will make more than 112,000 vacancies available to FIES, added to the opportunities of the first and second half. For this edition, there are 74.5 thousand vacancies offered. FIES has a single call and waiting list. Those who were not approved in the single call are automatically on the waiting list, which will be called between August 5 and September 19. The MEC will make new calls-through the waiting list-to fill vacancies that eventually were not occupied by the pre-selected in the regular call. Calls through the waiting list will take place between August 5 and September 19.
