The US embassy in Brazil published at X (former Twitter) on Tuesday (29), a warning for foreign travelers interested in watching the 2026 World Cup now request those visas for entry into the country.

“The 2026 World Cup will be the largest of all, with matches in 11 US cities,” says the publication. “We encourage foreign travelers who need a visa for the US to request now.”

The warning was published amid the imposition of President Donald Trump to increase global tariffs, with Brazil as the largest hit. On Thursday (31), he signed a measure imposing 10% to 41% rates on dozens of countries, changing the start of the rate this Friday to August 7.

In a statement, the White House said the measure aims to “deal with the recent policies, practices and actions of the Brazilian government that constitute an unusual and extraordinary threat to national security, foreign policy and the economy of the United States.”

According to FIFA (International Football Federation), the period of registration for those interested in participating in the World Cup ticket raffles begins in September.

The first date for registration on the entity’s website will be on September 10, when fans will be able to request a chance to buy tickets.

“After the incredible success of the Club World Cup in the United States, the expectation for the World Cup is in new levels,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
