US Secretary of Defense Pitt Hegschez today ordered about 1,350 members of the National Guard developed in Los Angeles after riots triggered by mass arrests of irregular migrants.
US President Donald Trump ordered June the development of National Guard and Marines in Los Angeles, despite the opposition of California Governor Gavin Newsom, with the aim of suppressing the episodic demonstrations that followed the wide -ranging business.
Since then the situation in the area has been largely relieved. Earlier this month, more than 2,000 members of the National Guard and 700 Marines had retired.
“About 250 members of the National Guard remain in Los Angeles to protect federal services staff,” Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said.
Development of National Guard in an American State without the approval of the Governor had not happened in the US since 1965.
The fight against irregular migration is a top priority for President Trump, who speaks of a “invasion” of “overseas criminals” and implements mass deportations.
