The STJD Attorney’s Office (Superior Court of Sports Justice) denounced on Friday (1st) Bruno Henrique, from Flamengo, for handling out results. The athlete would have forced a yellow card in 2023, during a match against Santos, for the Brazilian Championship, as part of a betting scheme.

If it is punished, the Red-Black team player can take a hook of up to two years. According to a police investigation, the striker would have warned his brother about the card to make online bets.

When the court made him a defendant for the same reason last week, the player denied any irregular conduct and said he trusts that everything will be clarified.

According to the UOL portal, Bruno Henrique was framed in two articles from CBJD (Brazilian Code of Sports Justice: 243 in paragraph 1 and 243-A.

The former talks about “acting deliberately, harmfully to the team he defends”. There is also the aggravation in case of possible financial advantage, according to the Court’s understanding.

In this way, the punishment could be 360 to 720 days of hook.

The second article in which he was framed deals with “acting, contrary to sports ethics, in order to influence the outcome, proof or equivalent”. In this case, if the objective is achieved, the punishment is between 12 and 24 matches.

“As detailed over the factual topics, Bruno Henrique Pinto, professional athlete of the Flamengo Regatta Club, engendered and executed a willful conduct aimed at manipulating event associated with sporting competition in order to generate improper advantage on bets of bets,” says the complaint.

It will now be up to the first instance of the STJD to decide whether to accept the complaint against the athlete. There is no date for a trial yet.

On the 25th, the Federal District Court accepted the complaint filed by the prosecutor and made defendants Bruno Henrique and his brother, Wander Nunes Pinto Júnior. Both are accused of sports fraud.

The decision was issued by Judge Fernando Brandini Barbagalo of the 7th Criminal Court of the Federal District, which considered that there are robust elements to accept the complaint. With this, the two accused must go to trial for the crime. There is no scheduled date yet.

If convicted, the maximum penalty may reach up to six years in prison.

At the time, Bruno Henrique’s defense stated that athlete trusts the court and remained again of his involvement with sports betting schemes.

” The judiciary rejected almost the integrality of the complaint made by the prosecutor. The part that remains will be promptly clarified in order to give rise to its filing. Bruno Henrique continues to rely on justice, while maintaining focus and total dedication to the life of a soccer athlete, certain that he has never taken part in any sports betting scheme, ‘says the statement signed by lawyers Ricardo Pieri and Felipe Carvalho.
