José Roberto Dias Guzzo died at dawn on Saturday (2), at 82, in. The journalist suffered a heart attack and died, according to information released by West Magazine, of which he was one of the founders and member of the editorial board. He will be buried at the Congonhas Cemetery in São Paulo.
He was born on July 10, 1943, in São Paulo, and began his career in 1961, as a reporter in the newspaper Last Hour and Under -Secretary of the São Paulo edition. Then he went to work at Jornal da Tarde of the State Group, and was even a correspondent in Paris. In 1968 he entered Veja, from the group Abril. Throughout a career marked by major international coverage, Guzzo was present in historic episodes such as the Vietnam War and Richard Nixon’s visit to China in 1972 – being the only Brazilian journalist to follow this event.
