Singer Marlon Brendon Coelho Couto da Silva, the, became a defendant in Rio’s court for torture and extortion by kidnapping against his former entrepreneur, Renato Antonio Medeiros. This Friday (1), the head judge of the 11th Criminal Court of the Court, Guilherme Schilling Duarte accepted the complaint, but denied the request for custody of the defendants, who will be responsible for the crime in freedom.
“I find that there is evidence of materiality and criminal authorship in the figures of the accused, and the initial describes the criminal facts in all their circumstances, allowing the complete understanding of the accusation and, consequently, the exercise of broad defense. Therefore, I receive the complaint,” the magistrate said in the decision.
In addition to MC Poze, they became defendants in the process Fábio Gean Ferreira da Silva, known as Loirinho, Leonardo da Silva de Melo (Leo), Matheus Ferreira de Castilhos (Tiza), Maurício dos Santos da Silva, Rafael Souza de Andrade (Casca) and Richard Matheus da Silva Sophia.
The court also denied the claim for kidnapping of assets of MC Poze, in the amount of R $ 300 thousand to ensure eventual compensation for moral and material damages to be paid to the former business.
Defense
Lawyer Fernando Henrique Cardoso Neves, who defends Poze do Rodo, said in a statement that he expects his client to be innocent. “The decision that received the complaint is the same one that completely removes the unusual and unobbable request for pre -trial detention to those who, always, undeniablely respects all decisions of the Judiciary. We trust that at the end of this process the justice will be made and Marlon will be acquitted of all accusations.”
Torture
According to the complaint of the Rio de Janeiro State Public Prosecution Service (MPRJ), the former Mc Poze entrepreneur of the squeegee was subjected to intense physical and psychological aggressions in February 2023, at the artist’s residence in Vargem Grande, in the west of Rio. The goal was to force a confession about the alleged subtraction of part of a gold bracelet.
Even after the object’s return, Medeiros would have been kept in private jail for about an hour and a half, during which he suffered punches, kicks, burns with lit cigarettes and blows with a handcrafted weapon made of wood and nails. The aggressions would have resulted in fractures, extensive lesions and permanent deformities, as evidenced by an expert report.
Prison
In May this year, Mc Poze do Rodo was arrested by agents of the Rio Civil Police Narcotics Police Station. According to the police, the songs sung by the drug trafficking, the illegal use of firearms, as well as inciting armed clashes between rival factions.
