The Anaconda Police Department identified the suspect on the run as Michael Paul Brown, who described as dangerous and warned the neighbors to remain vigilant
At least four people were shot dead on Friday (1) at a commercial establishment in a small town in the state of Montana, northwest, after which the authorities started a hunt to the shooter, who fled the scene. The shooting in a bar in Anaconda, a city in Deer Lodge County with a population of no more than 10,000 inhabitants, killed four people, according to the “NBC News” broadcaster.
Anaconda’s police department identified the suspect on the run as Michael Paul Brown, who described as dangerous and warned the neighbors to remain vigilant. The authorities did not identify the victims or mentioned if they were injured.
The office of alcohol, tobacco, firearms and explosives (ATF) confirmed the shooting and reported that it is cooperating with the investigation. Montana’s governor, Greg Gianforte, said he is closely monitoring the situation involving “an active shooter.”
The Department of Granite County Sheriff, which is Neighbor of Deer Lodge, said on social networks that a police tactical team had searched a house in Anaconda, but did not find the shooter, and advised residents to avoid the area.
