"Vital - The Cancer Portal": new site combats misinformation and myths on oncology

Combating misinformation and promoting health literacy is the main objective of “Vital – Cancer Portal”, the new project launched by the polygraph and viral check, in partnership with the Champalimaud Foundation. The initiative promises updated, scientific and accessible content about cancer disease.

O and the launched this week the a digital project dedicated to rigorous information on Oncology, developed in partnership with the Champalimaud Foundation. The platform brings together verified and supported content in the best scientific evidence available, with the objective of demystifying cancer -associated myths and promoting good health practices.

With a strong pedagogical component, “Vital” will continually make available explanators, factor-checks, interviews, first-person testimonies, videos and a themed podcast. All content will be published on Viral Check’s sites of the Polygraph and also released through the Champalimaud Foundation website.

The initiative combines the journalistic experience of the two facts verification platforms with the scientific knowledge of one of the reference institutions in the research and multidisciplinary treatment of cancer in Portugal.

For, the partnership represents “a reinforcement of the commitment to health literacy and the fight against misinformation”, contributing to support patients, caregivers and society with credible information and based on scientific evidence.
