Chinese automaker produced 317,892 electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids in July, compared to 320,852 in 2024

Chinese automaker Byd fell 0.9% in vehicle production in July 2025 compared to the same month of the previous year. It was the 1st retraction in 17 months, ending a growth sequence that led the company to global leadership in the electric car market.

According to the balance published on Friday (1st.ago.2025), BYD produced 317,892 electric and hybrid vehicles plug-in in July. In 2024, there were 320,852. Total sales grew 0.6%, reaching 344,296 units. Read the results (PDF – 342 KB).

Despite the slight advance in general sales, the performance of hybrid models plug-in It was negative: a 22.6% drop in sales and 24.6% in production compared to July 2024.

The last drop in production had been recorded in February 2024, with the general slowdown of industry during the Lunar New Year holiday in China, which took place in February, unlike January in 2023.
