This simple summer salad combines a juicy melon with a creamy feta and spicy chilli-limet spices. Thanks to fresh mint, the result is not only tasty, but also very refreshing. Ideal as a light appetizer or attachment to the summer barbecue.
Melon, and chilli are a trio that will surprise you with its harmony. The sweetness of the melon is pleasantly complemented by the salinity of the cheese and the slightly spicy taste of the chili-limet spice adds an interesting flair. Fresh mint then gives the whole salad freshness and lightness. Everybody can prepare this salad, just have a few basic ingredients and a few minutes of time.
Recipe for melon salad with feta cheese
Raw materials:
- 12 slices of melon, strong about 2.5 cm thick
- 55 g fragmented feta cheese
- 2 tablespoons of fresh mint leaves, torn
- 1 tablespoon of kayen pepper
Procedure::
1. Cut the melon into about 2.5 cm thick wedges and spread them evenly into a large plate or tray.
2. Crush the feta evenly on the melon so that it gets to each piece.
3. Sprinkle the torn fresh mint for fresh aroma and taste.
4. In the end, sprinkle everything with a cayenne pepper that gives a spicy touch.
5. You can serve the salad immediately or let it cool in the refrigerator for a moment to intensify the taste.
Tips for perfect salad
This salad is best served well chilled, so cut the melon and leave in the fridge for a few hours. Cayeny pepper gives an interesting contrast, but if you do not have it, you can also use a finely ground pepper with a little salt and lime juice. In the original recipe, the salad gives lightness, but you can easily replace it with basil or coriander to taste.
