The far -right “alternative to Germany” () secures 25% in a poll conducted by the INSA Institute on behalf of Sunday Bild, increasing its percentage one unit. AFD is still flirting with the polls a few months after the Christian Union’s electoral victory (CDU/CSU) that led Friedrich Mertz to the Chancellor.
The Christian Union (CDU/CSU) maintains first place with 27% while its government partner, the Social Democratic Party (SPD), secures 15%. The Greens follow with 11% and the Left Party with 10%.
The newly formed Zara Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW) is at 4% and the Liberals (FDP) at 3%.
The Insa poll was conducted between July 28 and August 1, with the participation of 1,203 registered electoral rolls.
