Amidst reports of discharge prices in Belém during the 30th United Nations Conference on 2025 Climate Change (COP30), the Ministry of Tourism conducts a series of inspections in infrastructure works and the hotel network of the capital of Pará.
For the head of the portfolio, Minister Celso Sabino, the argument that the prices charged in the capital of Pará are impractical is being “mitigated and absolutely overcome”.
In an interview with Agência Brasil, Sabino pointed out that the federal government is investing more than $ 4 billion in works in the city due to the event.

“It will leave a great legacy for the people of Pará, especially for the metropolitan region of Belém,” said the minister.
In addition to large hotels, they are part of the list, according to him, the City Park and Porto on Outeiro Island, where the ships that will serve as accommodation for various delegations will be moved.
“We have thousands of beds that will be ready now in August. Some have not even started to be made available. The Brazilian government is acting strongly so that there are no arguments – including that there are no beds and that prices are exorbitant. “In addition, there will be subsidized prices for delegations from countries with little purchasing power,” he added.

Asked about suggestions made by delegations, including the withdrawal of some work sessions from the city of Belém, keeping only the leadership summit in the capital of Pará, Sabino replied that the government has worked so that there is no hindrance to hold the conference.
“We are working so that there is no argument so that COP is divided or does not happen in the city of Belém. I can assure you that we have tight prices.“ During COP in Sharm El-Sheikh, there were delegations that did not want to go to Egypt. During the COP in Dubai, there were delegations that did not want to go to Dubai. Those who bet against the Forest COP, the Cop de Belém, will lose. ”
