He also praised the petista in negotiating with the United States by using diplomacy and maintaining a defense stance of national sovereignty. “Lula’s behavior was from a statesman. He opened the country to the dialogue, but positioned himself with sovereignty. Sovereignty is not negotiated,” he says.
For Macêdo, the country now starts a new cycle by continuing negotiation with the United States and consolidating new markets. “I think there are these two ways, the path of negotiation with the United States, respecting and demanding respect, and also dialogue with other international markets.”
