Former Minister of Lula, who has been recovering space within the PT, spoke during the 17th National Meeting of the Party
The former minister of the Civil House said on Saturday (2) that Brazil is facing pressures from the United States amid the increase of tariffs on Brazilian products. “We are facing the US Empire, an attack on and our democracy, which tries to amnesty and innocent the scammers,” said Dirceu during the 17th PT National Meeting in Brasilia. Given this scenario presented in his speech, Dirceu argued that the party did not adopt a position contrary to the new tax framework, implemented by President Lula’s government and associated with the resumption of social programs. The PT rejected an amendment that proposed the withdrawal of the rule.
According to Dirceu, the Lula government is structured in three main axes: Reindustrialization, through the Nova Indústria Brasil program; Infrastructure investments via the new PAC; and the energy transition.
