It seems that throwing a receipt is a trifle that does not require much reflection. Meanwhile, fiscal receipts are one of the most commonly classified waste.
The obligation to segregate garbage was introduced in Poland on July 1, 2013. From that time Each of us should divide waste into five fractions: paper, glass, bio -daddies, metals and plastics as well as mixed waste. In practice, however, as the data show, we still have a big problem with it. According to the study, “Are we in trouble?” carried out by Interzyro Polska in 2023, only 51 percent respondents declared that they actually segregate garbage according to the rules. Sorting bio -dads was particularly low. Only 62 percent do it. respondents. Even worse, some do not know where such basic waste should hit … fiscal receipts.

Most people intuitively throw receipts into a blue container – the one intended for paper. And here we make the biggest mistake. Receipts are not ordinary paper. They are printed on a special thermal paper, which contains a chemical layer that allows printing without mascara. Unfortunately, this material is not suitable for recycling.

According to segregation rules, fiscal receipts should go to a black container, i.e. mixed waste. Reason? As already mentioned, Thermal paper is not suitable for re -processing. His presence in a paper container can even reduce the quality of the entire recycling of the raw material intended for recycling. It is worth remembering: Never throw receipts into a blue container! Although they look like paper, for chemical reasons they are too harmful for them to reach the processing plant. It is best to direct them to mixed garbage immediately.
