WNBA players (the US Professional Basketball League) asked on Saturday (2) a reinforcement of the arena safety measures, after two league games were paralyzed in less than a week by the rinse of sex toys on the court.
Friday’s match between Golden State Valkyries and Chicago Sky was interrupted briefly in the third quarter, when the referees removed a neon green object that was thrown close to one of the baskets.
It was the second game of the paralyzed Valkyries this week for the same reason.
On Tuesday (29), against Atlanta Dream, the duel was interrupted at the last minute, after another sex toy was thrown on the court.
“It’s very disrespectful, it makes no sense. It’s very immature. Anyone who did it needs to grow,” said Elizabeth Williams, the Chicago player after Friday’s incident.
Isabelle Harrison, the New York Liberty player, asked on social network X that security be reinforced in the next games.
“Arena security?! Hello ??! Please improve. It’s not funny. Never had. Playing anything on the court is very dangerous,” Harrison wrote.
