President of the Republic stressed “Additional Emotion” caused by the situation and put ‘hands to work’ to solve the problem.
A small cloud of smoke leaving the wheel, detected due to the bad smell, forced a stop and replacement of the car carrying the President of the Republic between Santa Maria airport and teleport.
The incident occurred around 4 pm, before the first point of Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa’s agenda on Azorean Island, coincidentally in front of the Santa Mari Volunteer Firefightersawhose Professionals rushed to assist with extinguishers.
The concern caused by the moment did not seem to affect the president who, leaning in the hood of the car, tried to realize the origin of the problem and, towards the media, stressed the “Additional Emotion” caused by the situation.
A Difficulty was overcome in brief minutes with the president to be transported in another vehicle – electrical and smaller – carrying other elements of the entourage.
In Santa Maria, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa will visit the – An infrastructure of the Portuguese space sector – the React – Atlantic Network of Geodynamic and Spatial Stations and the Island’s Fisheries Port.
