White House Economic Advisor Kevin Hassett defended McNTAFER’s resignation in an interview with NBC News on Saturday. Asked if the president would be willing to dismiss anyone who discloses data with which he does not agree, Hassett replied, “Of course not. The president wants his team to be there, when we see the numbers, they will be more transparent and more reliable.”
