The Serrana de Cachopo town, in the municipality of Tavira, hosts its traditional summer party – also known as the “Emigrant Party” – on August 8, 9 and 10, in a joint organization of and.
This year’s poster promises enhanced animation with a program full of recognized artists from the national music landscape. Among the highlights are Emanuel & Tânia, David Antunes & The Midnight Band, Emanuel Moura, Ruben Filipe, the show with the group As Vozes, José Malhoa, Tomás Faísca, as well as DJs Tecnick, Serginho and Deejay Duda. The 3am band also joins the night festivities with performances that extend until dawn.
On Saturday afternoon, the animation hits the pitch with the usual and well-known football match between single and married, one of the most awaited moments by the local population and visitors.
In addition to music and sport, there is also space for faith. On Sunday, the 10th, the Mass will take place in honor of Our Lady of Sorrows, followed by a procession through the streets of the village, in an open invitation of the organization: “Give time to faith and be part of the moments dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows.”
The party also includes several activities for the younger ones, with inflatable and facial paintings, ensuring a family and welcoming environment.
The typical cuisine of Serra Algarvia will also have a prominent place. Over the three days it will be possible to taste regional dishes, such as the famous dog -style boar, the traditional honey cake and the locally produced bowl.
